Caroline review

The movie Caroline is a horror movie that scared me as a kid (now inspired to have “creepy” doll versions of Rachel and Acela, and later, Salama).  The animation is more resembling of computer stop-motion, and made the characters almost as real as possible, and try to make the movie as shady and creepy and scary as possible.  As a little kid back in Texas, I watched it when it is new.  I only adored the first half but never wanted to watch the remaining half (except the ending) since it scared me to death since the “other mother” turns into a Beldam.  The movie sight of violence creeped me as well, as basically scratching the eyes off is horrible.   However the creepy sight of the button eyes from the characters lead me have a Paint program picture of Acela the Malawian and Rachel the Zambian( my own characters) to be in a special style similar to Caroline and said it’s their version of the dolls, but the idea won’t last due to being afraid of the movie and some people wouldn’t appreciate it.  (Additional thing:  I do like the gravy train and I one proposed my model trains run through the kitchen to the dining table to collect food and remove trash.)

Weston's Coraline review

Coraline is an outstanding movie with its engaging story and beautiful soundtrack alone, but what really sets it apart from every movie i’ve seen is the animation style. The movie uses stop motion with hand sculpted clay puppets. The makers of Coraline didn’t need to use this technique since it takes so much time but they went for it and it definitely paid off. The stop motion animation really adds to the eerie tone the creators were going for by being a little choppy at times adding suspense. For stop motion the animation is very fluent. So smooth in fact I didn’t know it was stop motion at first, I thought it was computer generated. I think stop motion was a nice approach for the other family with the button eyes. At times such as when the other dad was chasing Coraline through the garden it was very nicely done and was a little unsettling. Coraline’s animation style has a charm i’d like to see more in movies and if it was in any other style of animation it would not be the same experience, it would be less eerie and engaging.

Coraline

Coraline is a great movie. The story of this movie is very good and the animation style is very good. The animation style is stop motion. Stop motion is taking a photo and then moving it then taking another photo over and over again. I really like this animation style because if you spray water or snow it makes it look much different than other animations. I feel like this animation is very smooth and flows really well. I like all the different scenes add a very nice touch in this animation. The different scenes are like sets and each set is made in real life and not like a cartoon. I believe more people should do this style of animation because I feel like this animation is becoming more irrelevant. This style reminds me of Wallace and Gromit but instead of clay they use toys and figures. The End.

Coraline Animation Review

The movie Coraline is very trippy and spooky. I can see how the little ones would have nightmares after watching this movie. The animation by itself was different, but I liked it. It looked like Claymation but different in its own unique way. The animation was smooth and consistent, not choppy or jittery at all. Almost all of the principals of animation were used in the movie. Squash and stretch, anticipation, and exaggeration were used quite a bit in the movie. Overall the animation was probably about 8.5/10, and the type of animation used was very nice to see, because it isn’t used too often.
